Accessibility Statement for Car Finance Claim Calculator

How Car Finance Claim Calculator aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, how the site is built, what is still to be audited, and how to report an issue.

Last updated: 11 October 2026 · Effective from: 11 October 2026

We want everyone to be able to use the calculator and read our guides, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control or a magnifier. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement says how we work towards that, what we know is not yet right, and how to tell us about a problem.

1. What we aim for

You should be able to:

  • use the calculator with a keyboard alone, with every field, error message and result announced by a screen reader;
  • zoom to 400% without text overlapping or needing to scroll sideways;
  • read every page with your own colours, fonts and text size;
  • understand the result without relying on colour, charts or images alone, because every figure is also given as text;
  • read guides written in plain English, with an answer at the start of each section.

2. How we test

The site is built with semantic HTML, so headings, lists, tables and form fields carry their meaning for assistive technology. Every control in the calculator can be used with a keyboard, and our colours were chosen to give sufficient contrast between text and background.

A full accessibility audit has not been completed yet. When it is, we will say here what was tested, with which tools and assistive technology, and on what date.

3. Known problems

Until the full audit is done, we cannot list every problem. If you find something that does not work for you, please tell us (section 6) and we will fix it or give you the information another way.

4. Documents and third-party content

Some links take you to documents published by others, such as FCA policy statements in PDF form. We cannot change those documents. If you need the information in a different format, ask us and we will summarise the relevant part for you.

The site does not show adverts. If we add them in future, every advert space will have a fixed size so it does not push content around, and adverts will not cover the calculator or the text.

5. Compatibility

The site is built to work with current versions of common browsers on phones, tablets and computers, and with common assistive technology.

6. Tell us about a problem

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, email contact@carfinanceclaimcalculator.uk and tell us:

  • the page address;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use.

We aim to reply within 5 working days and tell you what we will do about it.

7. If you are not happy with our response

If you are not happy with how we respond, you can use our complaints process. If you live in England, Scotland or Wales, you can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service, a free helpline that advises on equality and discrimination issues.

8. Review of this statement

This statement was prepared on 11 October 2026. We will review it after the first full accessibility audit and after any major change to the calculator.

By using Car Finance Claim Calculator you acknowledge that you have read this accessibility statement.
