Motorbike Finance Claim
Motorbike finance claim estimates on this page apply the FCA's published compensation rules to your PCP or HP bike agreement, with every assumption shown.
The free route: you can complain to your lender yourself, and the FCA says you do not need a claims company or a law firm to take part in its scheme. Find your lender on the FCA's list.

This is a commission claim, not an accident or injury claim. It covers commission arrangements between the lender and the dealer that you were not told about, and our car finance claim calculator estimates what the FCA's method could pay.
Scheme status as of 13 October 2026: the FCA scheme rules (PS26/3) are in force but partly suspended by the Upper Tribunal since 1 July 2026. The legal challenges are listed for 16 to 26 February 2027. Until the case ends, lenders do not have to calculate or pay compensation (redress), and no payments are expected before 2027.
Bikes the FCA scheme covers
The FCA names motorbikes next to cars and vans, for PCP, HP and conditional sale agreements from 6 April 2007 to 1 November 2024. Scooters and mopeds are not named. The test is whether the bike is a mechanically propelled vehicle intended for road use; each lender settles that with its own legal advice. A leased bike is outside the scheme.
Bike finance names on the FCA lender list
Bike finance names belong to separate lenders, so the brand on your paperwork may not be the company to complain to. The FCA's list, checked on 13 October 2026, links these names to lenders:
- Triumph Motorcycle Finance, Kawasaki Finance, Harley-Davidson Finance and Peugeot Scooter Finance: Black Horse Limited;
- BMW Motorrad Financial Services: BMW Financial Services (GB) Limited;
- Yamaha Motor Finance and KTM Finance: Santander Consumer (UK) Plc;
- Norton Motorcycles Financial Services: CA Auto Finance UK Ltd.
Yamaha, KTM and Triumph names appear under two lenders, so complain to the lender named on your agreement.
How to claim for a bike for free
Send your complaint to the lender, using the contact details or template letter on the FCA list. The FCA gives you 1 month to accept or challenge the lender's decision. The Financial Ombudsman Service reviews a disputed one for free, checking only whether the lender followed the scheme rules.
Questions bike owners ask
I sold the bike. Does the claim survive?
Yes. The claim follows the finance agreement, not the bike.
I had two bikes on finance. Is that one claim?
No, it is two. Each agreement is assessed on its own terms, so estimate each one and list both in your complaint. Vans follow the same rules: see van finance claim.
Bike owners pay nothing to complain to the lender, and the FCA scheme needs no claims firm.
