Moneybarn Claim for Car Finance Commission
Moneybarn claim estimates test the commission on your Moneybarn car, van or motorbike agreement against the FCA's redress rules. Moneybarn says it never used discretionary commission arrangements or tied arrangements, so a Moneybarn case turns on whether the commission was high.
You can complain to Moneybarn yourself for free. The FCA says you do not need a claims company or a law firm to take part in its scheme. Email Moneybarn via its commission complaints page, or adapt the template letter on the FCA list of lenders.

Moneybarn agreements that can count
A Moneybarn agreement from April 2007 to November 2024 can only qualify for redress through high commission, as Moneybarn says it used no DCAs and no ties.
High commission means at least 39% of the total charge for credit and at least 10% of the amount borrowed (CONRED 5.1.1R). Commission of £150 or less (£120 before 1 April 2014) never counts. Moneybarn expects the scheme to affect a small number of its customers.
Commission and affordability are different complaints
This calculator and the FCA scheme cover commission only. A complaint that a Moneybarn loan was unaffordable when you took it sits outside the scheme; Moneybarn's feedback and complaints page explains that process.

Questions Moneybarn customers ask

For some complainants, yes. Over the coming months Moneybarn is writing to people whose complaints are not eligible for compensation under the scheme.
